In joint effort with ISSA’s Cleaning Management Institute (CMI) and Sunbelt Rentals the Power of One scholarship strives to:

The Power of One scholarship ONLY covers the cost of registration, (no travel, lodging, or meals) for the in-person events listed at a Sunbelt Location.

This document outlines the Terms and Conditions for all scholarships granted under the Sunbelt Scholarship Program, which is administered by the ISSA Foundation and ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association. All scholarships awarded under the Sunbelt Scholarship Program shall be referred to as Scholarships in these Terms and Conditions and accompanying application. By submitting an application for a Scholarship, you acknowledge that you have read, understand and agree to these Terms and Conditions.

Eligibility. In order to be eligible to participate in the Sunbelt Scholarship Program, an individual must: i) demonstrate a desire to further their professional training in the field of commercial cleaning; and ii) be employed as a cleaning service provider. Employees of distributors or manufacturers of cleaning products are not eligible. Applicant may be required to show proof that they are employed as a cleaning service provider prior to the issuance of a Scholarship.

Scholarships are awarded based on the above and other established eligibility criteria, which you must meet to receive a Scholarship. The complete eligibility requirements for the Scholarship are outlined on the scholarship program webpage, and ISSA reserves the right to grant Scholarships to eligible industry professionals at its discretion.

Commitment to Diversity. In administering the Sunbelt Scholarship Program, ISSA and Sunbelt are committed to diversity and inclusion. Specifically, we seek to provide opportunities for minorities, women, and members of the LGBTQ community; groups who may be underrepresented; and individuals facing challenging social, economic, or cultural circumstances.

Consent to Communications and Privacy Policy. By completing and submitting the Scholarship application you consent and otherwise agree to receive communications from ISSA, the ISSA Foundation, Sunbelt, and their respective affiliates, divisions, subsidiaries and other related entities and partners including, but not limited to, sponsors and supporting partners of the scholarship program. In addition, applicant consents to the ISSA Global Privacy Policy.

Non-Transferable. Applicant acknowledges and agrees that the Scholarship, if granted to applicant, is not transferable, and may not be used by anyone other than the applicant.

Scholarship Award. Scholarships awarded under the Sunbelt Scholarship Program may only be used for complimentary registration in the Cleaning and Maintenance Institute (CMI) Custodial Technician Expert Training Program (“Training Program”). The Scholarship may not be redeemed for any goods or services other than registration in the Training Program. Individuals are eligible for one Scholarship only.

Permission to Publicize. By submitting this application, applicant consents, permits and otherwise agrees to allow ISSA and Sunbelt to publicize applicant’s name in a manner that will be visible to the public for the purpose of promoting this and other similar scholarship programs. Such permission shall include the applicant’s name and employer, photographic image, and consent to provide an interview or otherwise provide background information related to applicant and/or applicant’s professional experience in the cleaning industry.

Certification. The Training Program consists of three (3) individual in person Training Events: i) CMI Hard Floor Care; ii) CMI Carpet Care; and iii) CMI Restroom Care, Above Floor Care and Chemistry of Cleaning. Individuals awarded the Scholarship must attend all three Training Events within a twelve (12) month period to be eligible for certification by CMI. If an individual awarded a Scholarship is not able to meet these requirements, ISSA must be notified prior to the start of the first Training Event otherwise Scholarship will be forfeited in its entirety.

Taxes. Scholarship awards may be taxable as income. However, Sunbelt, ISSA or the ISSA Foundation and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries and divisions (i) are not responsible for and cannot provide you with financial advice on taxation matters; and (ii) are not responsible for the payment of any tax obligations on your behalf resulting from you receiving the Scholarship.

Void. If either Sunbelt, ISSA, or the ISSA Foundation knows or has a reasonable belief that you have provided false or misleading information when applying for your Scholarship, you may be deemed ineligible at the sole discretion of ISSA and the Scholarship declared void.
